Build your own Lowther Bicor 2000
The Lowther Bicor 2000 was first released in the 90's. Its design allows for two Lowther drive units within a double horn design with no crossover to distort the sound. One drive unit fires forward and the other backwards for rear reflection. Due to some of the complex angles and intricacy of the horn we have classed this cabinet as an advanced build.
If cutting the wood and its complex angles is going to be an issue we have a kit-pack option for you. Our kit-packs are boxed and delivered to your door with every part pre-cut to precision.
If you are worried about your ability to effectively seal the cabinet then we recommend the Lowther EX3 as a drive unit of choice.
Material and finishing guidance
We recommend building your speaker out of high-grade MDF or for better acoustic properties, baltic birch plywood. MDF is easier to paint if you are not planning on veneering your speaker. To get a nice glossy finish when painting we recommend using a water based pigmented lacquer with an 80% sheen level.
